Sinopse do evento
Who are the neighbours of the TNSJ spaces? And what about those who never visited them? Those who pass by, without noticing them? Those who go there once in a while, whenever they are able to, or feel like it? What groups move through the urban fabric of the TNSJ’s three houses? Do they see themselves, or not, in the city’s high culture places, especially those that make up this Theatre? Neighbours is a new programme of our Educational Centre. We intend to potentiate the relationship of the three spaces that constitute our universe with their neighbours, by inviting them to take part in a number of activities. Neighbours wants to be a space where people and collectives meet and contact, encouraging them to participate in our two Theatre Clubs as well as in activities connected with our shows, and sending actors, creators and educators who work with us to our neighbouring spaces.
One of Neighbours ’ sections can be chosen by the participants; in other words, we want to be challenged by our neighbours in the selection of the activities to be pursued. Open rehearsals, masterclasses, readings of texts from the shows, talks with creators and performers, backstage tours and improv workshops based on the shows themselves are some of the activities we intend to provide, whenever there is a demand for them and they can be harmosined with our work calendar.
This programme is open to associations, groups and schools. Neighbours 2019-20 is propelled by four thematic cores: Power, Love, Revolution and Memory.
