Uma Outra Bela Adormecida
Sinopse do evento
In 1998, **Agustina Bessa-Luís** was invited to create a text for a Companhia Nacional de Bailado programme about Sleeping Beauty . She decided to look at Charles Perrault’s tale in the light of modern times and through her proverbial mordant wit. “Nowadays, Sleeping Beauty would be rescued by Superman and journey far away from the Earth on a spaceship”, she wrote. ** Uma ** ** Outra Bela Adormecida ** [ Another Sleeping Beauty ] is a concert-show directed by **Beatriz Brás** that brings to the stage this children’s tale by Agustina, on the occasion of the writer’s Centenary. In an oneiric space through which irony and the concept of otherness wander free, the writer’s words mingle with Martim Sousa Tavares’ original score (performed live by Orquestra Sem Fronteiras) and with the screening of animated sequences and illustrations by Francisco Lourenço. In this show, recommended for families and children from the age of 6, the marvellous character of this “musical tale” commemorates the World Children’s Day, held on 1 June.
