Sinopse do evento

A girl is dying in a hospital because of a self-managed abortion that went wrong. The director of the Alma Institute refuses to let a Catholic priest in, thinking his presence would cause the girl unnecessary distress. A recording of the altercation between the doctor and the priest, which has gone viral on the Internet, generates a passionate online polemic and a TV panel of various social activists, turning into a “televised public trial”. A Médica [The Doctor], a play by English author Robert Icke, is an adaptation to present times of Professor Bernhardi, the improbable comedy Arthur Schnitzler wrote in 1912. Staged by Ricardo Neves-Neves, this new version explores in an ironic way the moral, ethical and religious conflicts that continue to emerge daily in all sorts of circumstances, and which may be just as devastating today as in Schnitzler’s time.
