Visitações brings the Revolution to the TNSJ. This sixth edition joins the commemorations of the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution by drawing inspiration from the events of 25 April 1974. Written and artistically coordinated by Cátia Pinheiro and José Nunes, Visitações: Revolução [Visitations: Revolution] embodies a number of concepts of revolution, experienced as a permanent, active condition, in order to fulfil itself. Ongoing revolutions, and particularly those that have yet to be carried out organise and unify the text, which is divided into eight “acts”, as many as the participating schools. Capicua’s rhythmic words weave them together. A stage, that spot where the theatre fulfils itself daily, is perhaps one of the most symbolic platforms to inquire into the concept of revolution. Young students from eight Porto Metropolitan Area schools will seize the TNSJ stage and fill it with questions, rhymes and desire for the future.
