Lugares Invisíveis

Description

What does a theatre building show, and what does it conceal? From our seats, the stage lights up as the heart of a grand theatrical machinery that is largely kept out of our sight. However, the only reason the scene lights up is because the whole building works day in, day out for that purpose. What places does it comprise, what stories does it tell, how does it engage with the community? In Lugares Invisíveis [Invisible Places], actor/stage director Nuno Preto and dancer/creator Daniela Cruz invite us to discover answers to all these questions via a show-tour of the places not open to the public in the TNSJ’s daily routine. Aimed at children and teenagers, this production draws its inspiration from the building, its history and the people that daily inhabit it. We are invited to join a voyage through the pleasure of the unknown, accessing invisible places through doors and corridors that are usually closed to us.
