Description

What is ignited by a fuse woven out of a James Brown song, Kafka’s The Metamorphosis, Gustavia (2008), the burlesque duo of La Ribot and Mathilde Monnier, and the words of Tiago Rodrigues? The answer is Please please please (2019), a reflection on the normative power’s opposition to minority bodies and their resistance(s) to it. On stage, the two choreographer-dancers bring to life a gallery of characters confronted by authority and catastrophe who inhabit a set of absurd, fantastical and dystopian brief tales by Tiago Rodrigues. These two women speak to their children, in a dialogue about the world to come. Please please please is an urgent appeal to future generations.
