Following the success of its first, challenging work cycle, which reached a peak at the TNSJ stage with Once Upon a Time – A Verdade Secreta, our U-88 Drama Club enters a new three-month module, under the guidance of Nuno Cardoso and Emílio Gomes. This segment, more condensed and intense, is ruled by the challenge contained in the following question: how can we return to the original value and meaning of the word, in a time ruled by audiovisual seriality? Camões’ words will be the vehicle for a possible reply to another question, serving as title of the show to be presented: E se Os Lusíadas fossem uma Odisseia no Espaço? [What if The Lusiads Were a Space Odyssey?] This what if…? describes the Club’s approach to a literary classic, inquiring into its present relevance for us.
