Art Schools at the TNSJ

Every year, we offer a stage to the final-year projects and tests of students from various Porto art schools. Art Schools at the TNSJ is a programme that builds bridges between academic training and a professional future. The shows created by final-year Theatre students of ESMAE and ACE combine every theatrical skill (acting, scenography, costumes, light, sound, stage direction and production) into an experimental exercise that puts years of study into practice. The public presentations of final-year Dramatic Arts/Actor Training students of Universidade Lusófona do Porto and final-year Theatre students of ESAP offer them opportunities for working in a professional context and engaging with members of the artistic milieu, thus favouring their future in the field. During the first public showing of the skills they developed over three years, final-year Dance and Theatre students of Balleteatro will present their Professional Aptitude Tests. The product of personal artistic projects, these tests are the capstone of the students’ creative research and exploration of new scenic and performative approaches.
